Vehicle flags are decorative flags hung or affixed to vehicles, belonging to the category of flags, primarily used for vehicle decoration and display. In specific scenarios such as desert off-roading, vehicle flags also serve as warnings, distance indicators, and visual identifiers. Traditionally, vehicle flags are divided into triangular and square flags. Modern vehicle flags are mainly categorized by usage scenario into hood flags, window flags, and mirror flags, requiring customization based on vehicle component dimensions. Common sizes include 14×21cm and 20×30cm. They are typically made of spring spun polyester, polyester, or satin fabric, printed using heat transfer technology, offering waterproof, sun-proof, and colorfast characteristics. Flag surfaces are available with single-sided heat cutting and double-sided ironing reinforcement processes. Flagpole lengths range from 28-55cm to suit different vehicle models.

In ancient times, vehicle chariots and flags were regulated by rank. Vehicle flag production has gradually become standardized alongside the development of the modern flag manufacturing industry, forming a complete system covering materials, processes, and specifications. Early car flags were mostly triangular or square in shape, but later, to meet market demand, they were refined into window flagpoles, suction cup flagpoles, and other types. Materials shifted from traditional cotton to durable materials such as polyester and PVC. Manufacturers improved printing precision through digital printing and discharge printing processes, and introduced designs such as magnetic flagpoles and retractable flagpoles to adapt to the in-vehicle environment. Applications have expanded from basic decoration to advertising promotions, festive events, and political propaganda, such as customized products like Russian flag car flags and US presidential campaign flags.
